WHAT WE DO
Collection Formation
Whether looking to enhance a new home or develop a meaningful collection, we are highly specialized and confident in our ability to guide our clientelle. Through direct acquisitions or trustworthy referrals, we have both an active inventory and vast network of colleagues / specialists within most genres of the art market. We would be pleased to discuss any available artwork, source specific pieces and/or consult on collection development.
Deaccessioning
We are actively seeking high quality artwork. If you have a single artwork to sell or a collection you are looking to place, we are pleased to discuss your deaccession needs and interests.
Art Brokerage
We have strong relationships with top auction houses both nationally and internationally. Trotta-Bono Contemporary has assisted clients in negotiating individual artworks as well as entire collections for private and public sale. We successfully placed the Estate of George Terasaki with Schweizer Premodern and Sothebys in the fall of 2019. We have negotiated terms for works by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Agnes Martin, Andrew Wyeth, Julian Schnabel, Betye and Alison Saar, among others. We have successfully placed important artworks into major public and private Institutions such as LACMA, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the ICP, The Hood Museum of Art, The Hammer Museum, Art OMI, TIA, The Horseman Foundation, SLAM (St. Louis Art Museum) and Art Bridges.
Collection Management
Cataloguing and collection management can be a daunting task. We have the in-house knowledge and strategic relationships to assist in all aspects of collection management. From cataloguing to photography, research, appraisals, insurance, database development, conservation, storage, etc.; let us assist in your thoughtful custodianship.
Art Book Production
There is nothing more rewarding than viewing and sharing your collection in an elegant and tangible form. A stunning art book can add value, context and deep enjoyment for a serious collector.
