Notes: Collage X Landscape is a mesmerizing tour de force defined by texture, color, shape, individualism and the “elements”. Morrison returned to nature throughout his career. He sought the rock, tree, water and horizon. This artwork masterfully reveals all of these facets. It encompasses a graceful composition of weathered woods. The palette is made up of subtle hues in brown, grey, red, and oxidized blue/greens. Long strips of contrasting weathered wood run lengthwise along the top third of the artwork to delineate the Horizon. The grey below can be interpreted as the shimmering sunlight off of the water.
